Raccoons are a big pain in the butt. They make a huge mess of the garbage and they poop everywhere. Their droppings are actually quite dangerous. The dried dust can make you quite sick, and when fresh, they contain worms that can cause severe brain injuries if eaten by pets or toddlers.
That being said, these three young ones that turned up in our back yard and all decided to sit in our planter box at once were exceptionally cute; and made the cover of our Christmas card a couple years back.
