MISSION:

Snapshot Voyager is about my own personal photography journey. I am always looking to try something new, inquisitive as to how it works, and to the end results I might achieve.

If you would like to post a photo on my blog, contact me with a small blurb on the shot and I will post it here.  Posts here will be at my discretion.

PRIZE WINNING PICTURES
These two pictures were taken by my Dad for the Penola Arts Festival Photographic Competition in South Australia.  He was using his Pentax K7 and a Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro.  These two pictures placed 2nd and Highly Commended respectively.  The other 2 prizes, 1st and 3rd, were taken by a professional photo-journalist.

#1 WASHING ON PETTICOAT LANE - 2nd Prize
This photo was taken during a local festival where owners of this heritage cottage hung out period washing.  The wind caught the washing just at the right time to give the photo movement and life.

#2 STATUE TO CHILDREN LOST - Highly Commended
The photo of a rose bud on the background of a statue is for for children that have passed away.  The bud represents a young life and the statue shows a mother, father and child.  For parents who have lost a child (like my wife and I) this holds special significance.
Interestingly the rose in the photo was cultivated by the husband of the professional photographer mentioned above, who runs a commercial nursery and is called, very appropriately, "Heaven's Scent".
