One of Nikon’s best ever lenses is the Nikon 35-70mm f2.8 AF-D pro standard zoom. This lens is absolutely outstanding! It is just as sharp, if not sharper than the newer Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 and the latest Nikon 24-70mm f2.8. At minimum focus distance at f5.6 it is as good as any dedicated macro lens - and that is truly saying something.
Take a look at the huge crop of the gerbera.
To boot, it even has a macro mode!
For what these lenses deliver, they are an absolute bargain on the used market. If you find one, snap it up quick!
